Olive Egger are not considered a pure breed, since there are several ways in acheiving the Olive Egger chicks. Olive Egger chickens are a cross between a dark egg layer and a blue egg layer to produce (green) olive eggs. We use a French Black Copper Maran rooster over White, Lavender, Black, Blue and Splash Ameraucanas. The reason for the variety of Ameraucana colors is to give colorful chicks. The French Black Copper Maran rooster passes down his feathered legs to his offspring.
